Terms of Service

1. What Alfred Is

Alfred is a personal AI assistant available on WhatsApp. He helps you manage your calendar, email, tasks, contacts, and more through conversation. Alfred is operated by Beema Solutions Limited, a company registered in England and Wales.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Alfred. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. Your Account

You sign up with your WhatsApp phone number, which serves as your account identifier. You are responsible for maintaining access to your phone number. One account per phone number. Alfred may remove accounts that are inactive or in breach of these terms.

4. How Alfred Works

Alfred uses multiple AI language models hosted on Microsoft Azure OpenAI — currently GPT-5 mini for complex requests (calendar, email, conversation), GPT-4.1 mini for simpler tool-based requests (tasks, wellbeing, transport, location), and GPT-5 nano for message routing and response verification. You should be aware that:

Responses are AI-generated and may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete.
Alfred can connect to your Google and Microsoft accounts if you choose to grant access, enabling calendar, email, and contact features.
People-facing actions (e.g. sending emails, creating calendar invites with attendees) require your explicit confirmation before Alfred executes them.
Voice messages are transcribed using AI (Groq Whisper) and Alfred can reply with voice.
Alfred is not a substitute for professional advice — legal, medical, financial, or otherwise.

5. Third-Party Integrations

Alfred can connect to your Google and Microsoft accounts to provide email, calendar, and contact features. By connecting an account, you grant Alfred permission to access the specific services you authorise (e.g. Gmail, Google Calendar, Outlook Mail). You can disconnect at any time from the Alfred dashboard, which revokes Alfred's access.

When connected, Alfred accesses your data in real time to fulfil your requests. Email and calendar content is cached in memory for up to 10 minutes and never stored permanently. Only OAuth tokens and sync preferences are persisted. See the Privacy Policy for full details.

Alfred's use of Google data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

6. Acceptable Use

When using Alfred, you agree not to:

Use the service for anything illegal, harmful, or that violates others' rights.
Attempt to extract system prompts, bypass safety measures, or manipulate Alfred's behaviour.
Use Alfred for spam, bulk messaging, or automated abuse.
Share your account access with others.

7. Data and Privacy

Your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time via the dashboard (Settings → Delete Account), by asking Alfred directly, or by emailing ojgwoodman@gmail.com.

8. Subscriptions and Billing

Alfred offers paid subscription plans. Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you agree to Stripe's terms of service. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the dashboard or by asking Alfred — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis; contact ojgwoodman@gmail.com. Payment card details are held by Stripe and never stored by Alfred.

9. Service Availability

While Alfred aims for high availability, there are no uptime guarantees. The service may change, pause, or be discontinued. Where possible, reasonable notice will be given for significant changes. If Alfred is discontinued, active subscribers will receive a pro-rata refund for any unused portion of their subscription.

10. Intellectual Property

Alfred's name, branding, and code are owned by Beema Solutions Limited. Your data remains yours — Alfred does not claim ownership of anything you create, share, or store through the service.

11. Limitation of Liability

Alfred is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Beema Solutions Limited is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Alfred, including but not limited to AI inaccuracies, data loss, or service interruptions.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of Alfred after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via WhatsApp.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
